“This is a grower champagne, meaning the maker also grew the grapes (this tends to spotlight the terroir of the vineyard). Blanc de Blanc means its 100% Chardonnay, and these tend to be delicate, aromatic wines. This one has floral aromas, green apple, and piecrust flavors, and a mineral finish. a perfect pairing for any important meal, and totally shippable too.
Women pioneered the COLIN Champagne vineyard, which is now run by Richard and Romain Colin.
The passion for vines and wine began with their grandmothers Geneviève Prieur and Marie Louise Radet who both inherited vines from their parents.
But the family’s first winegrower dates back to 1829 with Constant Piéton, the great grandfather of Geneviève Prieur, Richard’s and Romain’s maternal grandmother.
Most of the 10-hectare estate is planted with Chardonnay – the king of grape varieties on our vineyard – in the prestigious Côte des Blancs in Vertus, Bergères-les-Vertus and Cuis, classified as Premier Cru Champagne and in the Grand Cru villages of Cramant and Oiry.
We also grow Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier in the village of Sézanne.
The rest of the vineyard lies further away in Venteuil in the Marne Valley and in Dormans.
Expertise & Experience
It takes more than a fine terroir – crafting champagnes worthy of the name also requires the winegrower’s ancestral expertise and experience combined with modern techniques.
The harvest, hand-picked when the grapes reach perfect maturity, is then taken to a traditional wooden Coquard press as well as a pneumatic press. A few months in casks give the wines time to oxygenate slowly.
The wines are aged on the lees for at least double the minimum time required and for more than 6 months after disgorgement. Each plot is vinified separately to allow each of our terroirs to express its character to the full.
Thanks to these traditional methods tending vines and crafting wines, our champagnes are marked by finesse and elegance, and typical of the Côte des Blancs’ greatest vineyards.
Facts on the wine
This 100% Chardonnay champagne from the Côte des Blancs will astound you with its delicacy and airy elegance.
• Composition: 100% Chardonnay.
• Terroir: Vertus and Bergères-les-Vertus Premier Cru.
• Vini cation: malolactic fermentation. Aged on the lees for at least 24 months and for 6 months after disgorging.
• Year: 60% “solera” continuous reserve wine and 40% of the year’s wine. • Dosage: 7.5g/l, Brut.
• Eye: a pale yellow robe, ne foam and good persistence.
• Nose: delicate aromas of blossom enhanced by notes of summer fruits. • Mouth: a lively, gracious wine, its minerality is expressed in an impetuous vitality enhanced byavours of fresh butter and buns.

The Cuvée Blanche de Castille Premier Cru is the ideal aperitif for Chardonnay devotees. It is also makes the perfect companion for jumbo prawns, cray sh scallops and creamedsh.
